May the Force Be With You

Greenacres is the place to be!

Long day at the office and what do I come home to?  Hammy evidently hacked the IPad again and found the new Star Wars trailer.  He’s begging me to let him see the movie this December.  I may need to check my Amazon account to make sure he didn’t purchase light sabers and parts to build his own Death Star!  Quick check of my browser history he evidently was looking for vodka distillers in Hoth also.  I guess Hammy will be camping out at the local theater dressed like it is own personal Halloween party in December with the rest of the mindless goofballs.

In an attempt to completely piss off half my fan base Mr. Skipah still cracks the hell up at Star Wars buffs and Trekkies when a new movie comes out.  Plus it’s Friday and nobody reads this shit on the weekends so I shouldn’t hurt too many people’s feelings.  I’m a huge fan of many things, and you can bet your ass I’ll be at the premiere of the new Bond movie next month.  I however will not dress up like the title character and camp in the parking lot for 48 hours talking in secret language all the while thinking I’m hip.  I thought Trekkies were insane, they come off as normal compared to the Star Wars lunatics!  The Star Wars aficionados are crazier than a polar bear that thinks his home is in Florida!  Hammy just informed me Katy Perry is putting on a show in my area soon.  Disregard the previous paragraph I’m off to pack deodorant and a toothbrush so I can wait in line for a week at my local Ticketmaster outlet!

Yikes!

Prayers and positive vibes to my little Spanish speaking buddies one country south of me (Kentuckian that would be Mexico), I dated a Patricia in college and she wasn’t nearly as nasty (bummer).  Hurricane Patricia in case you haven’t heard is going to hammer the Mexican coast this evening and she is the strongest hurricane ever recorded!  Hopefully everyone got out of the area and are enjoying fish tacos for dinner.  She must be a beast because I haven’t seen Jim Cantore of The Weather Channel on television yet and he doesn’t miss any weather event!  I can’t imagine he let his passport expire so maybe this behemoth even scared him off!  My  Texas regiment of Skipah’s Army brace yourself it sounds like you are getting torpedoed this weekend also.

Before my current life expires I want to experience a hurricane!  Not some monster Category Five but just your run of the mill Category One.  I was in Kitty Hawk, NC one year when Tropical Storm Ernesto rolled through and that was something I will never forget.  Not pictured me screaming at the top of my lungs getting pelted with sand yelling “This is freaking awesome!”  Midwesterners will remember when the remnants of Hurricane Ivan rolled through town and was still packing tropical storm winds, that wasn’t freaking awesome, it was downright scary!  We have way too many maple trees and aren’t used to 40 mph sustained winds in these parts.

Picture quality sucks, but I’m the luckiest bachelor in the world!

Miss Madison is out getting her hair done tonight, but she added a couple events to our already power packed weekend!  Taking Sloane and her kiddos to the theater (stage version) tomorrow and then some trick or treat fun at the zoo on top of everything else we had planned this weekend.  Sounds like a good weekend to stock up on Red Bull or hook me up to a Diet Dr. Pepper IV drip.  Long story short we are going to be a couple of busy beavers!  Expect plenty of pictures Sunday night/Monday morning as I hope to rekindle my inner photo blogger from the Door County, Wisconsin trip from a couple of weeks ago.

This response to a comment I made on Flip Flops Everyday uplifted my otherwise dreary day.  Work has been a grind, no Miss Madison tonight, and finances that only meth addict would be jealous off had me in an otherwise craptola (I invented that word) mood today. Check Sandi out if you can she is my west coast sarcasm buddy and tells it like she sees it herself.

About it for tonight, Hammy is on a Netflix binge of the Star Wars series bitching about how annoying Jar Jar Binks is, and I just want to relax and watch some baseball.  Get both of my girls back with me tomorrow so I’m looking forward to that and all the memories we get to create this weekend.  After the last few days I need a number seven myself (Friends fans will get that), but unfortunately I’m not biologically able!

  1. At least Hoth will keep the vodka cold…also not sure why she needed her hair done. Looked excellent in your crappy picture.

  5. The original three were top notch!

  6. Am an fan of the original 3 Star Wars movies (episodes 4, 5, and 6) have seen the newer ones. My husband purchased DVD copies of them, but they don’t compare to the original 3 movies of my childhood.

Hate the Jar Jar character. At least the left R2-D2 alone!

  7. Yeah it looks like east Texas is about to become a gigantic swimming pool!

  8. The Weather Channel said strongest storm on planet Earth ever so I’ll go with that!

  9. I’ve been busy! Maple trees were snapping like twigs when Ivan rolled through here!

  10. I agree I’m a fan but sheesh people have a little self respect.

  11. Thankfully, it seems like Hurricane Patricia slowed down considerably already and it didn’t cause as much damage as predicted.

I’m still expecting an entire weekend of fun rain in Texas, though! (sarcasm)

  12. Hurricane Patricia is the strongest hurricane measured in the Western Hemisphere, not on the planet. They aren’t called hurricanes in the eastern hemisphere. So while it may be bad, it may be a bit hyped. As for Star Wars, pass. And Bond? The previews are so over the top that I thought I was seeing a Tom Cruise movie.

  13. Maple trees are cool. I like living around “way too many” Maple trees. Of course you know where the most important one is, and her blog will be in action again soon. As soon as good ole Skipah helps to (finally) set up her website!

  14. Nice Friends reference, 7 is awesome. And so are you for the plug, thanks man! Star Wars is cool, but I’d never dress for the occasion, but to each his own, right?

  15. Monica Gellar’s “zones” eventually led to Seven. I guess it’s true that often the journey can be as rewarding as the destination!

Tell Skipah all about it!
