My blogger buddy Athena invited me to a 5 day challenge to join the Five Photos, Five Stories Challenge: “Post a photo each day for five consecutive days and attach a story to the photo. It can be fiction or non-fiction, a poem or a short paragraph and each day nominate another blogger for the challenge”.
Day number two of the photo/story challenge that I never vowed to be a part of, but hey I’m evolving didn’t even cuss a Kentuckian that cut me off on the interstate today.
This is from the Outer Banks, NC in the summer of 2009. It was Sloane’s first and to date only trip to the beach. Over that dune roars the mighty Atlantic Ocean. If I ever become rich and famous I will own a mansion some were on one of those islands and this picture will be transformed into an oil based painting hanging over the mantle.
Personally I’ve been to the Outer Banks three times and look forward to going again as soon as I can. Here is where I cultured a love for fresh seafood especially a crab cake from the Austin Seafood Company, and could honestly give directions around the island better than some locals. While the women folk hang out at the beach I liked to drive around and discover hole in the wall restaurants and shops or just learn the local terrain in general.
Today I will nominate a zoo animal; the Baffled Baboon is a real live baboon that posts like he is human. Pulls it off quite well also and I guarantee you that a visit to his site will leave you either “baffled” or educated in the world’s history of the strange and obscure.
